Anthony Tran is a versatile marketing professional and the “Marketing Guy” at Beaver Builder, but there’s much more to his story. We recently caught up with him to hear about his journey and experiences, which underscore how WordPress fosters community.
Can you share a bit about yourself?
Hi, I’m Anthony Tran! I currently reside in Phoenix, Arizona, with my wife and son. I spent most of my life in Orange County, CA, and had the opportunity to travel extensively while serving as a Logistics Officer in the Air Force. I’m passionate about marketing, data analytics, and SEO, though I admit it’s a bit geeky! When I’m not working, I enjoy binge-watching Netflix shows and traveling whenever I get the chance.
Tell us about your company and role.
I’m part of the Beaver Builder team, a WordPress company known for its user-friendly drag-and-drop page builder. I’ve been the “Marketing Guy” here for a year, overseeing various aspects of marketing.
How did you get to where you are today?
It’s been quite a journey: Military → Corporate → Podcaster → Agency Owner → Beaver Builder. My wife and I run a web design company, Marketing Access Pass, and we’ve used Beaver Builder since 2015. When I saw a job opening for a marketing role at Beaver Builder, I applied, and the rest is history.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
The team is definitely the best part. I’ve worked in many environments, but the support and camaraderie here make it special. It’s almost surreal to say, but I truly love being part of the Beaver Builder family.
Can you explain what you do and its value to WordPress?
I manage all things marketing—PPC, social media, content, SEO, and data analytics. We offer tips and training through our blog, YouTube, podcasts, and by participating in WordPress events like WordCamps.
What advice would you give to someone interested in marketing?
Marketing has many specialties. Choose one that aligns with your interests and strengths. Creative types may thrive in social media or design, while analytical minds might enjoy SEO or PPC. If you’re a strong communicator, consider podcasts or speaking at events. Find your passion and master it.
What’s a highlight of your career?
My proudest achievement is creating a career that allows both my wife and me to work from home—a big goal we’re grateful to have achieved.
Any parting advice?
Don’t be afraid to take risks for your dreams. Life is short, so go all in!
